Keith Banks memorial triples 2015
!6 teams from the Breckland league contested the annual Keith Banks trophy held at Hingham on Sunday 11th October 2015.
Each team in the Breckland league can enter up to two triples, although some only enter one.
Playing in 4 leagues of four teams with the playing order done in an open draw on the day each triple draws a number to decide in which league they play in.
With only the winners going forward to the open draw for semi-final place they had to be competitive from the start.
After two of the scheduled three sessions, the league leaders were as follows
League 1 Hingham 2, W.Townsend, T.Curry-Smith and M.White
League 2 Connaught A 1, C.Musk, S.Hall and S.Bragg
League 3 Connaught A 1 E. Oatway, T.Musk and L.Fallows
League 4 Carleton Rode G. Coleman, K.Newby and G.Mobbs
As all of the above won their last games they were the league winners all on 6 points
In the open draw for the semi- final, done by Hazel Banks Connaught A 1 were drawn against Connaught A 2 and the other semi-final was between Hingham and Carleton Rode
Connaught A 2 beat Connaught A 1 by 14 shots to 8
Carleton Rode beat Hingham 2 by 20 shots to 5
In the final Carleton Rode took the lead winning the first 3 ends to lead 4-0 but Connaught hit back on the 4th end scoring 4 shots to level the match. The 5th end was a no scoring end, Connaught took 2 shots on the 6th end to lead, Carleton Rode then took the next 3 ends to lead 8-6 a single to Connaught brought them one behind with 2 ends to play but a five scored by Carleton Rode on the penultimate end virtually put paid to Connaught’s chances, two scored on the final end to Carleton Rode saw them worthy winners.
The trophy was presented by Hazel Banks
