June 23, 2011: Brass to the Future gets star-spangled in Aiken this July 4! Join us for our 2nd Annual Independence Day Concert, 7 PM at Hopeland Gardens in Aiken, SC.

April 2, 2011: Thanks to everyone who came out to our April Fool's Extravaganza on April 1! We had an absolute blast. We'll add recordings from our WUSC/The Columbia Beet appearance once we get them.

March 21, 2011: Brass to the Future adds Avenged Sevenfold's "A Little Piece of Heaven" to its repertoire. This arrangement is the band's longest and marks Shrimp's debut as a co-arranger.

February 16, 2011: It's official! Join us April 1, 2011 with The Lovecrafts at New Brookland Tavern! This is not a joke: it's going to be awesome. Be there! Learn more here.

January 5, 2011: We're gearing up for 2011 and we're hoping to make it our best year yet. No gigs scheduled yet, but we're working on some musical mad science with The Lovecrafts and have a few other tricks up our sleeve. Things to watch for this year:

October 28, 2010: Thanks to everyone who came out for our show with The Toasters (especially those who sang along with the "Pokemon Theme Song")! We can't wait to play for you again.

Due to scheduling conflicts and outpatient surgeries, Brass to the Future will not be giving any Christmas performances this year. We hope you can muster some holiday cheer despite this devastating news. Be on the lookout for our hotly anticipated Christmas album, The Ghosts of Christmas Brass, tentatively slated for release in November/December 2011.

October 12, 2010: On October 26, Brass to the Future rocks their usual stomping grounds at New Brookland Tavern. What's different this time? They're opening for The Toasters! Learn more here.

September 7, 2010 (Update 2): Brass to the Future returns to Sumter on Friday, October 15 for Oktoberfest on Main! We'll be laying down the 3/4 and 4/4 oompah beats along with our usual stuff.

September 7, 2010 (Update 1): We had an AWESOME night with Harptallica on September 5. If you weren't there, you missed out on a delicious bowl of musical soup; if you were, then you witnessed history. Details about our next gig will be here soon!

June 3, 2010: Tyler has completed a strange little original piece, a funk chart called "Nah..."

May 25, 2010: After a long break, Tyler has arranged a new tune: a reharmonization of the classic jazz standard "Fly Me to the Moon." More new pieces to come!

May 2, 2010: Brass to the Future is pleased to announce the formation of support act White Girl Problems!

April 17, 2010: Brass to the Future is taking a brief hiatus for the month of April to work on some new material and so Shrimp St. Thomas can get through his grueling law school exams. We've got some big things on the horizon, through, so check back soon!

March 7, 2010: BttF had a great time performing at Band Together for Haiti with Chief Complaint, et. al. We were also on WIS-10's News at 11! Thanks to everyone for a wonderful show.

March 6, 2010: Brass to the Future and Chief Complaint invite you to the Sumter Opera House for the Band Together for Haiti benefit concert! Show starts at 7:30; doors open at 7. February 27, 2010: Join Brass to the Future today for a free concert at the Sumter Mall! The band starts playing at 2:30 to kick off this year's Unity Day celebration. Look for BttF around the Belk department store. Please see our Tour Schedule for additional information.

February 23, 2010 (Update 1): Join Brass to the Future this weekend at the Sumter Mall for Unity Day! Unity Day is a free event featuring artists of all styles from the Sumter area. Brass to the Future will be providing prelude music starting at 2:30 on Saturday, February 27, and the program begins at 3.

February 3, 2010: Brass to the Future has a landed a HUGE, possibly televised gig at the Sumter Opera House on March, 6. At this point we don't know times or ticket prices, but we'll add the information to our Tour Schedule soon. BttF will be playing in a benefit concert for relief to Haiti as a supporting act for the headlining act, Sumter-based rock band Chief Complaint. January 28, 2010: Brass to the Future has a gig! Come see us at the Sumter Mall on Saturday, February 27 at 2:30 PM. We'll be playing prelude music for Unity Day. Hear your favorite brass band for a free show--then stick around for all the other great music. More details to come.

December 21, 2009: All recordings from the impromptu Opera House performance are uploaded and ready to go! You can listen to them on the Files page.

December 20, 2009: Due to rainy weather, Brass to the Future relocated to the Sumter Opera House for their reunion performance on Friday, December 18. Playing to a handful of friends who braved the storm, as well as to several movie patrons who arrived toward the end of their abbreviated set, Brass to the Future played a solid show and even got a recording. Be on the lookout for downloadable songs (and our new electronic demo!) in a few days.

December 18, 2009: There is a very high chance of inclement weather tonight. In the event that Fantasy of Lights is rained out, Brass to the Future will perform at the Sumter Opera House at 6:30 PM, just prior to Big Screen Fridays at the House's showing of Julie & Julia at 7 PM. If you come for the band and leave it's free; if you stay for the movie it's $2.50.

December 11, 2009: David Low and Tyler Cook chatted with Eric McKnight, subbing for Derek Burress, on Good Morning Sumter. Although the guys forgot to mention the name of the website (d'oh!) they had a great time and hope to be back on the show in the future. You can listen to the audio here.
