For a variety of reasons, it is easiest to simply convert monsters from OGL/Pathfinder/3.0/3.5, using a very simple set of conversion rules. In the event that this produces results that are contradictory or absurd, simply apply best judgement to produce something close to the original creature in spirit if not in exact statistics.
Statistics - These are mostly a straightforward conversion; the CP2020 attribute equals 1/2 of the D&D score, with REF = DEX, INT = INT, EMP = WIS, COOL = CHR. BOD is a more complex calculation. Average together STR and CON, then halve the value. This gives the effective BOD score for the monster. Compare this score to the "Chassis Inventory Table" to determine the creature's Toughness or "BTM", as well as the Damage Bonus.
Melee Attacks - Monsters have a "Brawling" score equal to 1/2 their attack bonus, rounded up. Damage is equal to their listed damage for an attack, plus the Damage Bonus listed above.
SP - Many monsters have substantial armor due to thick hides, bony exoskeletons, or simply unnatural durability. Look up the creature's AC rating, specifically the "Natural" bonus. SP equals 1/2 of the Natural AC bonus, rounded up. For example, a mature Red Dragon will have SP=12 armor, with hide and scales like the best steel armor. Combined with such a creature's size and strength, it is nearly unkillable with normal weaponry.
Special Abilities - These are so numerous and so varied that it is useless to try to do a direct conversion. Instead, go for the spirit of the ability, boosting the effects as appropriate to the setting.
Size - Many monsters are incredibly resistant to damage, by simple dint of their size. Compare the creature's listed Size Category, and modify the number of pips in the "Wound Box" for that creature. Likewise, the size of a creature affects difficulty of hitting it.
