Character NotesApotheon, the Half-Elf Fighter (Pam): Raised in the human-ruled castle at Highspire, Apotheon is a half-elf whose main ethic is a fierce loyalty to elves. In his youth, Apotheon was ostracized from the court of Highspire, presumably for his elf loyalties. His heritage is only vaguely understood, like that of many illegitimate persons of noble birth. Thus, he is only known as "Apotheon." Ostracism from the court led him to train as a fighter to fend off attacks from both humans who fear he may have some legitimate claim to royal property and from elves who fear he could be engaged in espionage. The one strong bond he maintains is with Sileviel Saelbes Istel(Aleah), an elf who is some type of cousin, but who he protects as he would a younger sister. Delivering tributes would be unsafe for Apotheon, and so he depends on his cousin for this. Apotheon may have been trained in fighting by Belkas Horkas (Brandon) a master in the art. Apotheon's main character flaw is arrogance, which comes from his silver spoon upbringing.
Sileviel Saelbes Istel, Elven Cleric (Aleah): Hailing from the valley around Castle Dien-Hathel, Sileviel is associated with the Elven noble who claims it as his domain. When called, she serves in his personal retinue. Sileviel is related to Apotheon, though exactly how remains somewhat deliberately obscure. When not in Dien-Hathel, she spends her time with her cousin among the humans.
Belkas Horkas, Halfling Monk (Brandon): This Halfling hails from the little town of Mulefair, which gets a lot of strange visitors due to its location of the Old Imperial Road. He was trained in the martial arts by a strange human named Brother Renzag, from the far-off land of Sannath-Khai beyond the mountains to the north. If the Halfling knows why the monk chose to train him, he hasn’t told anyone else the reason.
Torinn Norixius, Copper Dragonborn Bard (Jason): Torinn was raised in the mountains to the north of HIghspire, in a large family within the clan Norixius. As the youngest of seven, he learned early to garner attention by telling jokes and occasionally by singing funny songs. As a kid, he was known as Earbender for his ability to hold the rapt attention of adults with his wit, charm, and profound observations. He later parlayed this into something resembling a career, playing at local courts as an entertainer. He is fiercely loyal to his friends, and also intensely stubborn. He first appeared out of the mountains to the north by coming to the Elven court at Castle Dien-Hathel. He established himself here first, meeting Apotheon and Sileviel and making their acquaintances. Later on, while making the circuit of small towns and villages in Highspire, he heard stories about a giant Half-Orc Wizard and a Halfling Monk who was deadly with fist and feet… definitely worthy of a visit to Mulefair. The three outsiders quickly became friends and occasional traveling companions.
Drogaz, Half-Orc Wizard (Ryan): Drogaz was originally a half-orc warrior from the Northlands, specifically from the Kingdom of Storms. He was driven out of his community when he started showing an aptitude for magic, but was found by a traveling mage. Drogaz became his apprentice, and the two eventually made their way to Highspire. The mage eventually retired from adventuring, settled down in the town of Mulefair, and passed away a couple of years ago. The Half-Orcs in Mulefair live in a swamp village near the town. Though allowed in the town to work as laborers, they are generally shunned and not well-treated by the locals. As a result, when the Half-Orc Wizard established himself as an adventurer, he also became something of a local celebrity.
Moonflower, Half-Elven Rogue (Edmond): A talkative wanderer, Moonflower has several stories about himself that he tells as a performance piece to earn his keep. When not stealing things, he often travels with the Dragonborn Bard and joins him on stage. Little else can be said for certain about the rogue.

Noteworthy NPC’s
HRM King Elifas is noted for being suspicious, cautious, and a bit hard-hearted. He is suspected of expediting the death of his brother to gain the throne, but nothing was ever proven.
HRM Queen Damara is the public face of the royal family, being a natural diplomat with a seemingly sunny disposition. She helps to smooth the edges of her husband’s demeanor.
HRH Crown Prince Hadrek is known to be a sincere, pious young man. His aspirations of going to Alakai City and becoming a paladin are thwarted by his status as next on the throne.
HRH Princess Theodosia is a good-natured, intelligent but naive young woman, most known for her skills as an archer and rider learned under the tutelage of visiting Pershamon envoys from the west.
HRH Prince Elazen is a skilled swordsman, but unproven in war. He is known to have a cruel, vindictive streak and a taste for worldly things, but has thus far managed to avoid bringing scandal to the family.
Lord Chancellor Heinrich, Chief Minister of Court is the king’s chief advisor, and related to the Prince of nearby Nyremi. He is capable and loyal to the king, but arrogant. He owns several vineyards and mines, and is possibly the largest slaveowner in Highspire.
His Grace Phaendar Holayarus, Elven Lord of Dien-Hathel is hot-tempered, impulsive, and always on the move. He affects a bored worldliness, and lives for the hunt and defending his lands against uninvited outsiders. Lord Phaender holds the valley of Dien-Hathel, an Elven sanctuary to the north of Highspire. He is an occasional ally of the king, but his assistance comes with a price of some sort.
Lady Tahmina Nurbanu, Baroness of Neunheim, Lord of Castle Adastra is known as a fickle warrior of uncertain loyalties, with powerful and shifting moods. She is of mixed Kehler and Pershamon ancestry, and is related to a noble family in Silverwater. She holds the lands around Lake Adastra, and manages the taxation of goods shipped from there.
Lord Leofwic, Baron of Jaressa Valley, Lord of Castle Falsewell is perhaps the best loved of Highspire’s nobles. A famously heavy drinker, irreverent and impious, he nevertheless is the stalwart defender of Highspire’s tumultuous southern border. He and his many kin are experienced campaigners against neighboring Jastros. Baron Leofwic holds the lands along the Jaressa River and part of the Old Imperial Road.
Lord Thorkel, Baron of the East, Lord of Castle Nightguard is unlike the other barons of Highspire, having many villages but no actual towns. Castle Nightguard controls the Eastroad Pass, and thus access to the mountains to the northeast. He and his lands are both rough and undeveloped. He is notoriously ill-tempered, jealous of his authority, and noted for a powerful bad smell.
