Cleansing Eye of Puspamadura - This fiery red gemstone was granted to General Chakatra of Sursaban, where it was mounted as an amulet. The amulet was lost when the general was killed in a slave uprising, carried south into the Mayhar Jungle. There it was lost for a time, passed from orc to hobgoblin to adventurers, eventually making its way to Terathmin, and eventually into the possession of a fire mage named Suran Arminderus. It was stolen from him several years ago, and is now owned by a crime boss in Durham! Alone, the gem gives "Resistance" to elemental attack; Cast "Conjure Elemental" at 8th Lvl 1/day; Cast "Flaming Sphere" and "Wall of Fire" at 8th Lvl, 1/day
The Guildmaster of Durham's underworld is a human named "Marc Cindkryon" (Rogue 12, Wizard 4). As can be imagined, he is a very powerful individual, with many powerful connections. He is deliberately not of particularly high social status. He splits his time between his home in Embrypine Ward and the Guild Headquarters in Jotunbridge Ward. Each day, he and his bodyguards ride the cable car down to the guild hall to attend to business. Known locally as a merchant, patron of the poor, and devout worshipper of Kultuhara, Master Cyndkryon is well regarded by locals - he goes to pains to avoid "tracking mud up the hill".
Cindkryon House is a surprisingly modest two story building, home to the guildmaster, his wife, two children. Located in a small walled ward, in a separately walled compound, The family lives on the upper floor. Two bodyguards reside downstairs, both human "veterans", accompany the guildmaster and his family at all times. Sleeping rooms all have small secret doors, allowing access between floors. Under the stairs is a ladder to the basement, used for mundane storage; a secret passage to the sewer drains can be found here. Four servants live in modest servant quarters downstairs. On display in the sitting room is a suit of "animated armor" displayed as if merely armor. It will obey the commands of the guild master. The grounds outside are patrolled by "guards", both on the grounds and the ward patrol itself.
The Guild Headquarters are in the Jotunbridge Ward, a section of town down in the flatlands where the Imperial Road runs across the Jotun River. There are a great many warehouses here, as cargos are transferred between river and road. The guild itself is a warehouse on the river, beside a dock.
Above ground: Three floors of warehouses, office on the first floor. Trapdoor for lowering goods to secret hold on first floor, secret stairwell leading to lower levels on second floor. Guards on site are thugs, laborers are bandits, co-owners are an assassin (Joris Bogwalt) and a bandit chief (Enris MacRoy), who live in apartments nearby.
Below Ground: The thieves who work in the lower level are generally "spies".

The celebration they are attending is on the "Palace High Green", an area roughly roughly the size of a football field, large enough for a tourney field, viewing stands, and places for canoodling. It is high up on the side of the mountain, so it offers a spectacular view of the city. OTOH, going over the drop edge will be about a 150' fall to the next terrace. Stairways are on both long ends, and there are internal areas built into the mountain side.
It is expected that a couple hundred guests will be there, plus servants and entertainers. Events start in the early afternoon, progressing through the night. Food, drink, dancing, performers, a melee tourney, music, all will be offered as entertainment. No weapons larger than a dagger will be allowed on the High Green, save for the Prince's Guards, and those involved in the tourney.
Guests will include several merchant and craft guild masters and 2d6 guests each, plus 1d6 bodyguards. The Prince of Durham and his bodyguard of ten armored warriors, including four dwarven gunners in plate, will put in an appearance, but not stay very long.
Guildmaster Cynd-Krion is maintaining the identity of a minor merchant, and has a small retinue. He and his family will travel to the event in sedans, carried by noncombatant porters, while his people will walk there along side. He is joined by his wife (Betla) and two daughters (Emeline and Pashra) , plus two bodyguards Garrett and Fenester (Veterans +2 in brig with bucklers and short swords) and a Mage (4th Evoker) named Zanthe, who is dressed as an assistant. His actual bodyguard is an Assassin (Golwyd) who floats a short distance away, pretending to be a random pedestrian. The assassin is armed with a +2 shortsword concealed under robes. Zanthe has a "sending stone" to another assistant at the guildhouse, who can arrange for an army of "Spies" and "Thugs" to be sent to wherever needed within an hour.
Stealing the Cleansing Eye off Cynd-Kryion's lapel will not be easy at all. The bodyguards are Passive Perception 15, Cynd-Krion is 16, and the Assassin is 18. If the assassin notices, he will tail the thief and try to get the stone back after killing the thief.
