Kelno, Elemental Priest of Air

Temple of Elemental Purity

Kelno was a middle-aged man, dressed in silk gray robes. He had dark hair and gray eyes. His skin was white from too much time indoors. In battle (or when battle threatened, as was most of the time the party spent in his company before his demise) he wore a breastplate beneath his robes, arming himself with a mace. Quite a stark comparison to both Belsomig and Lareth's grandeur!

When he was encountered, Kelno was the Highest remaining Priest of the Elemental Temple of Air. He was found by the Party as they made their way toward the Water domain, after their encounter with Cormanthor the minotaur statue, hiding in rooms with his contingent of hobgoblins. The battle there between the party and Kelno reached an impasse and they resolved to associate in a mutually beneficial (if short-lived) relationship to undermine the Water Temple.

The Priest was an arrogant man, and quickly sought to shift the axis of power between himself and the party on the Zoo level of the Temple (subsequent to fleeing from the Water Priests after a failed incursion). This change in the power dynamic between party and Priest was executed by creating the Undead beast that was Belsomig (a raised ettin who was thereafter affectionately named akin to the High Priest of the Elemental Temple of Water).

Kelno was not afraid of displaying a lascivious side, often appraising Ceridwen, Jade and Kendra with his eye - licking his lips with a very pink, worm-like tongue. After the encounter with the umberhulk in the brass cage, Kelno stole Dorian's necklace from his unconscious body, claiming it as "payment" for the darts he had previously lent the party during the ill-fated invasion of the Water Temple. This prompted the party to attack him, after a long stand-off where he called them his slaves (et cetera). Kendra began the combat by casting a silence spell, cutting the Priest's options dramatically, and forcing him to retreat in gaseous form whilst the undead ettin did its best to mash the Leofrinnes, Ceridwen, Dak Sevlah and Elme into paste.

The battle seemed to be going in his favour, but in a twist of fate the ettin was laid low and the cocky Priest, cutting his retreat short to return to the battle, was slain by Brach.
