Grizzly Assias

High Druid

One might question Dorian Leofrinne in particular of this protagonist in the Bloodright campaign. A bearded druid of grand and noble stature, Grizzly has been one of the hands at the tiller of the story, speaking volumes of his influence in the Flanaess and over the druids, including Dorian - who was his apprentice, of sorts. Typically, he carries a stout, gnarled staff and dresses in worn brown robes to which leaves and other forest detritus cling. Despite his inelegant dress, he unnervingly radiates power of all kinds -- being easily four-hundred pounds in weight and possessing wise eyes topped by busshy eyebrows.

He was present at Dorian's induction into the Sheldomar,

"True wisdom begins when one first realizes that he has little more knowledge than an infant. This is how it is in all things. You must always be open to new things, never quick to judge, never quick to temper or rage. In nature things just are. There is no reason or emotion behind them. As your understanding of the order and of nature develops, your wisdom will develop more if you are open to all experiences. The world is full of a million perspectives. None of them is truth. But, perhaps the sum of them all is. Or perhaps one is true at any given moment and not at another. You become powerful, as you have evidenced here today. You have learned to command the natural forces around you. Listen to all of those around you. Not just the ones who fit your perceptions the most. True understanding comes only with patience." [Session 28]

Grizzly himself has spent much time in the Temple of Elemental Evil, as "bat, rat or snake", and was involved in uncovering the tablet of Tharizdun that was discovered at the site. Additionally, Prince Erythene of the elves claimed to know him as "The Old Bear".
