THEProject is an intercollegiate project management competition. In this competition teams of students compete to provide the best project management plan and business case to a panel of project management professionals (PMP) and prominent Western Michigan Business leaders. Teams from colleges and universities compete for cash prizes and paid internships at major corporations in West Michigan. The student teams, guided by Western Michigan Project Management Institute (WMPMI) supplied certified mentors, must create a project management plan for a given business situation in which judges evaluate the project based on PMBOK fundamental.
THEProject is designed to provide students real-life business experience. The winning team will have an opportunity to present their findings in front of business and academic leaders, as well as members of WMPMI.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide project management training to Grand Valley State University (GVSU) students.
Provide updates to the school champions.
Provide guidance to the students on the completion of project deliverables.
