Course Description: A six-hour process driven workshop founded on the key skills of project management specifically adapted for GVSU Full-Time Integrated MBA (FIMBA) students. The goal was to expose participants to the world of project management and work with them to utilize these skills to plan and present a project using their learnings in the FIMBA coursework. It provides a structured method for professionally managing all aspects of a training project, from defining scope, the importance of business analysis, gathering requirements and creating a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). I also teach how to use the tasks/activities from the WBS to sequence tasks and to create a schedule.

Course Description: A three module course that is designed to help early to mid-career professionals build time management and project management skills. Introduces the five steps of project management initiating, plan, execute, monitor and control and close-out to manage a business scenario. This business scenario is chosen by the Emerging Leaders at the University. They will work to use Project Management methodology to implement a plan to solve a business problem.

Course Description: A four-week course that introduces the concept of returning to school as a project to be managed through project management strategies. It will teach you how to use the five steps of project management initiating, plan, execute, monitor and control and close-out to manage your academic and work/life requirements while introducing strategies that will increase the chance of academic success. Special emphasis is placed on understanding adult learning theories, time and stress management concepts. This emphasis will help to balance the interplay between academic success and non-academic challenges.

Course Description: A six-hour course that introduces the basic concepts and terminology of project management. It is an in-depth training that teaches the importance of business analysis, gathering requirements and creating a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). I also teach how to use the tasks/activities from the WBS to sequencing tasks to create a schedule and then demonstrate a forward pass and backward pass through a network diagram. The introduction of Amway's SDLC documentation, as well as PMI approved documentation and forms from the resource A Project Manager's Book of Forms. The class ends with a story about the importance of a good project close-out process and a question and answer session.
