- I strongly recommend using NMM to install and uninstall this mod
- Say "yes" to have my mod replace any and all files
- If you want to install manually, make certain you back up the following files from your --Data--Scripts--Source folder: PlayerVampireQuestScript, PRKF_VampireFeedBeds_000CF02C, and VampireSunISMDEffectScript
- If installing manually, make certain you ONLY install one of my main .esp files.

If Installing For The First Time

1) Delete any and all other vampire modification mods first, if you remove them later on some of my scripts will be removed and replaced with vanilla Skyrim versions.
2) Install my mod (make sure it is installed after any appearance or customized race mods, say yes to replace any and all files).
3) Use LOOT or make certain that my mod is in the correct load order (check my Troubleshooting page).
4) Use my MCM – Troubleshooting and Cleanup page and click on "Reset Sanguinare Vampiris" or use the "Reset Vampirism" menu option by using the {Customize or Reset Better Vampires Mod} power (found at the bottom of your powers menu).
5) Customize my mod with the MCM, customization power, or console commands.
6) You were infected in step 3, now you must wait 3 days for your disease to run its course and you will become a vampire at stage 1 (fully fed).

If Upgrading

Please follow all of these steps if upgrading from a previous version of my mod:
(don't worry, you'll never lose your progress)

1) Rest/wait for 24hr in the game - this will allow any NPCs you have fed upon, or used Seduction or Fear's Embrace on, time to recuperate.
2) Use my MCM - Troubleshooting and Cleanup page and click on "Reset/Clear Better Vampires Mod" or use the "Reset Better Vampires" menu option by using the {Customize or Reset Better Vampires Mod} power (found at the bottom of your powers menu).
3)
Exit my MCM to have the mod reset.
4) Use my MCM - Troubleshooting and Cleanup page and click on "Reset Sanguinare Vampiris" or use the "Reset Vampirism" menu option by using the {Customize or Reset Better Vampires Mod} power (found at the bottom of your powers menu).
5)
Exit my MCM to have your vampirism reset.
6) Save your game (it must be a real save, not a quick save).
7) Exit the game.
8) Uninstall and delete the old version of my mod (completely DELETE it from the Skyrim\Data and Skyrim\Data\Scripts folders). I use NMM to remove mods, but you can check the files section and use my "Remove Better Vampires" batch file if you installed manually (it is much faster).
9) Start the game and load your saved game from step 6 - ignore the message about missing content.
10) Now make a new "clean" save without my mod (not a quick save).
11) Exit the game.
12) Download and install my latest mod version using NMM.
13) Load your "clean" saved game from step 10.
14) Customize my mod with the MCM, customization power, or console commands.
15) You were infected in steps 4 and 5, now you must wait 3 days for your disease to run its course and you will become a stage 1 Vampire (fully fed).

NOTE: If you are using the "RaceCompatibility for Skyrim and Dawnguard" mod by TMPhoenix, you have to follow the instructions on his page on how to make a clean save in conjunction with his mod. If you don't, my mod will not function properly.  You can also check my Known Issues and FAQ Page for a list of instructions.
