During the 2011 annual congregational meeting, the congregation voted to start on the 2nd phase of our pilasters repair. We currently have about half of the money needed and would need an additional $26,000 to fund this phase. The church council wants an intense campaign effort. The council’s goal is to raise $26,000 by October 9th. This focused campaign has Bergen’s ice cream stand awaking from its long sleep to aid in promoting awareness about our much needed building restoration. This campaign is called “Licks for Bricks” and is being managed by a steering committee. We realize that ice cream sales alone cannot get us there. We need a comprehensive approach to raising the necessary funds to reach the campaign goal. First of all, we are planning several ice cream stand appearances at several events and fundraisers throughout these 6 months. The money raised through individual donations, sales from ice cream and t-shirts and fundraisers between May 8th through October 9th will be subject to dollar-to-dollar matching funds from families who have memorial financial gifts to offer. For the next 5 months the Licks for Bricks steering committee will keep you updated through the newsletters, announcements before worship, and individual word. This will be a fun and exciting year of eating ice cream so please stay tuned for more!!!
