The Montgomery County Police Vice Unit is advising that escorts are being targeted for robberies in Silver Spring, Maryland. In the robbery cases, Backpage.com Escort ads were utilized by the suspects to make contact with the victim. The suspects then responded to the hotel rooms and robbed the victims of laptops, money and other property. In two cases, the victims were accompanied by male "security" but this did not dissuade the suspects. The suspects are described as a B/M with dreadlocks and the second is a light skin W/M or H/M armed with a handgun. These are violent robberies - so act before you are a victim.
