The 3 road district board commissioners are appointed by the Lincoln County Commissioners to staggered 3-year terms. To renew their position as a commissioner, each must submit an application to the County Commissioners in December of the year the commissioner's current term expires. This is done through the County's Public Information Officer. The other 2 commissioners are then asked by the County Commissioners to approve or disapprove of the re-appointment. This needs to be unanimous for the county to act on re-appointment. Note that any member of the road district may apply to be a commissioner. You may view and download an application form here.
