Bear Valley Road District Meeting 5/8/12

Both Board Commissioners Norma Jean Washburn and Bob Wentz attended along with Keith & Melanie Hutchens and Mike Marshall. The vacancy on the board left by Justin Evans' resignation at the end of February still remains, although the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners has not declared it officially vacant. As Casey Miller, Public Information Officer for the Commissioners stated, "I am in the process of seeking correspondence from Justin to receive official word from him that he has resigned."The checking balance is unchanged at $8,863.97. Wentz is exploring storing rocks for the district at Paul Lindsey's property at the SW corner of N. Deer Drive and Hwy 18. The board passed a motion authorizing Paul Lindsey Trucking & Excavating to fill our current pot holes with rock for $150 including the rocks. Washburn announced she still has information at home about USDA loans that may be available for special road districts.

The board read off a list of expenditures they plan to make in the 2012-2013 fiscal year that will spend all of the $8863.97 currently in the checking account, but they did not share a copy of the list with the district members present. They did not yet have a formal budget including revenue projections. The board formally approved the list of expenditures. When asked, they indicated that the tax levy they would be submitting to Lincoln County would be at the rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value. Based on last year's tax revenue, this should yield the district approximately $8,375 to $8,625 in revenue in December 2012.
