Pot Holes and Bear Valley Road District

First, many thanks to George Haft for volunteering his labor in filling pot holes on Deer Drive and Alder Court. George has been seen driving around the road system generously giving his time and effort to provide some much needed road maintenance. They will always appreciate volunteers!!!On another note just to clarify, the Bear Valley Special Road District includes Alder Court and all of N. Deer Drive from Stockton all the way out to Highway 18. You can see this on the map and in the legal description for the District posted at Reports for Bear Valley Road District where you can scroll down to "Miscellaneous" and open files, both of which are PDF files. The members of the district pay property taxes to maintain the entire road system. This includes the portion of Deer Drive running all the way out to Hwy 18 from Valley View. Note that the property with the pond at N. Deer Drive and Valley View does not contribute to the road district fund because technically they have legal access to Valley View whether they use it or not. Also, the properties at the corner of Deer Drive and Hwy 18 are not subject to road district tax because they have legal access on Hwy 18. Nevertheless, that stretch of Deer Drive is legally part of the District and we all have to drive over it to enter and exit Bear Valley via Hwy 18.

As you all know, every year about this time we have been repairing that section as a pretty serious collection of holes and ruts develops there from all the traffic and weather it gets. In past years, JB Sweitz has done an excellent job of repairing and maintaining that stretch as well as the rest of the system.
