Rev Francis Barlow Teesdale was vicar of Whitminster, Gloucestershire for a number of years and owned Whitminster House. He and Louisa Elizabeth had two daughters; both were born in Dorset and both remained spinsters. When the second daughter died Whitminster House was passed on to a Teesdale cousin. It is now a wedding venue with self-catering cottages.
