Armorer (Skilled Only) This skill encompasses the broad array of skills required to build, create, and maintain weapons and armor. This includes being able to make up blueprints etc to help design new weapons or armor. As with all mechanics-based skills, the proper tools and equipment are required to perform any repair or build operation. This skill includes Armor, Artillery, Explosives, Firearms, Melee Weapons, Heavy Weapons, Weapon Accessories.
Communications (Skilled Only) This skill is the basis of military signals intelligence. It governs the encoding, disruption, spoofing, and decoding of communication systems. Providing the user has the proper equipment, the skill can be used to manipulate or even take over the signal of any item’s communication system. This skill include Communications, Encryption, Jamming, Sensor Operations.
Electronic Repair This skill relates to the physical side of technology. It allows the character to repair, modify, or construct technological devises. It also allows the reverse if the situation calls for it. Whether it be the actual hardware, wiring, or circuitry, etc. In a bind the character can jerry rig and use unconventional methods, or salvaged/excess parts at their disposal to fix things for the duration of their purpose. This skill would relate to Commlinks, Mainframes, Electronic Devices.
Engineering This skill allows a specialist to monitor ship’s electrical and mechanical systems as a whole, watching for fluctuation and other signs that a component is breaking down. There can institute repairs to damaged systems from their station, route power to specific systems to help boost shield or life-support etc, and direct hands-on repairs to remote locations through the use of droids etc.
Defense Specialist This skill allows one to operate all shipboard/structural defensive systems with precision, attempt to direct defense to parts of the ship where they’re most needed, and analyze attack patterns to make best use of the defenses at their disposal.
Hacker Hacking is used to discover and exploit security flaws in computers and other electronics. This ability allow character to breach devices, files, systems, networks, etc, with the intent to steal pertinent information or cause malice. This involves the ability to use electronic devices to gain such access, and gives the character a certain sense about where this information would be stored, and how to obtain it quickly while covering their digital tracks.
Inventor (skilled only) (Specify the Field Range) Allows a character to build an electronic or mechanic component or system from scratch, or to modify an existing one to perform a new function. This skill allows a character to plan and draw out schematics and blueprints that help make the building process run smoother and more efficiently. This skill is wholly dependent upon materials, and can require hours, days, weeks, or months to succeed depending on the complexity of the device.
Mechanic You know your way around machines and can make them purr, if that’s what’s needed. This Skill might let you re-build an engine, modify a machine, or perform other feats involving mechanical devices. This can also allow you to damage them or render them inoperable if need be. This does not include designing or creating a machine, however, that is covered in mechanical engineering.
Programmer This is the ability to modify, repair, or write software code, whether in a helpful of harmful way. This also gives one that ability to alter data to suits one’s purpose or holographic imagery. Use Programming to write new programs, modify or patch existing software, break copy protection, find or introduce exploitable flaws, write maleware, design virtual settings, and so on.
Sensors Specialist This skill allows one to operate all shipboard and personal gear with precision, attempt to scan ships or planets, and analyze those readings in a short period of time. They can sometimes, up to the GMs discretion, use the data to provide bonuses to weapons or defense operations.
