Rogue Skills

Back Stabbing - The ability of a rogue to stab a target in the back with the element of surprise and do large amounts of damage. This adds to the damage bonus when performed correctly. Though this is completely up to the GM’s discretion.

Bribery - The practice of offering something (usually money) in order to gain an illicit advantage, induce or influence. This is a practiced art in using money or favor given or promised in order to influence the judgment or conduct of a person in a position of trust.

Detect Noise -This is the ability to hear small sounds that others miss. This skill improves the character's chances of hearing and interpreting sounds, picking up on pieces of conversation, or detecting would be stalkers and so forth.

• Con and Bluff This is a skill in fast-talking and smooth lying; a marked ability to impress, deter, convince, or confuse by a false display of confidence, lies, etc. This is the ability to swindle or trick a victim by winning his or her confidence or simply convincing them in the truth of your words or logic. This skill lends itself to gaining information, items, etc from others, as well as presenting information or items gained, etc in such a way to convince others that you’re something that you’re not.
• Disguise is the art of physically altering your appearance so that you look like someone else. This includes both the use of props or cosmetic surgery (wigs, contacts, skin pigments) and the altering of subtle physical characteristics (gait, posture, poise). Use Disguise to fool someone into thinking you’re someone you’re not. This can be used to hide your identity or to make yourself look like someone in particular.
• Escape Artist If a character wants to slip free of physical bonds (such as ropes or handcuffs) or otherwise contort themselves (such as wriggling out from under a collapsed wall or an overturned vehicle, or slipping out of a confined space), the Escape Artist skill applies. This also gives the character a familiarity with devices that might aid them in getting free when they are physically bound by electronic detainment devices. This does not give a character the ability to unlock doors, or hack systems to gain freedom. Those are abilities covered in other skills.
• Forgery Skill is used to produce counterfeit items or alter existing items to a specific purpose. Depending on the type of forgery, the forger may need specific tools or schematics to complete the task. This skill would include Counterfeiting, False ID, Image Doctoring, Paper Forgery
• Impersonation is the skill of trying to pass yourself off as someone else in social situations, including virtual ones. This includes copying mannerisms and speech patterns and using accumulated information to convince others that you are that person. In a universe where appearance is highly variable, the question of identity is largely one of both trust and picking up on behavioral quirks and verbal cues to recognize a given individual. Sometimes it’s fun to pretend you’re someone else, and sometimes it’s profitable or lifesaving. Use this skill whenever you attempt to convince someone that you are actually someone else through some sort of social or online interaction.
• Infiltration This is the art of escaping detection. Use this skill whenever you need to physically hide or move with stealth to avoid someone sensing you, whether you are hiding behind a tree, sneaking past a guard, or blending into a crowd. This includes the use of technologies specifically designed to aid the character if they are available and the character is familiar with them. This is also pertains to situations regarding a craft, whether it be air, ground, or other. Infiltration can also be used to follow people (shadowing) without them detecting you. This skill include Blending In, Hiding, Shadowing, Sneaking.
• Security Devices This skill allows a character to attempt to bypass or detect all types of mechanical or electronic security, from trip wires, to motion sensors, to electronic locks. It’s also used to set traps both electronic and mechanical in nature.
• Slight of Hand Now you see it, now it’s gone. The character has hands that are quicker than the eye and knows how to use diversionary tactics to their benefit, which lends itself to pilfering things, as well as other such tasks that require fast hand movements to pull off. This also works in reverse allowing a character to plant objects. Use slight of hand any time you are trying to conceal an item on your person, shoplift, pick a pocket, surreptitiously discard something, or plant something on someone else.
• Streetwise This is the skill of being able to conduct oneself properly in the streets, find out where the action is at, fit in with rough crowds, know who the shady and buy-able law enforcement officials are and who are not, how to get in good with the underworld, get connections and contacts and so forth. This adds to reactions against situations in rough company and allows one to sometimes be able to call in favors and acquire additional assistance.
