The doll was actually made by Jan and is dressed like me and even has a ponytail (like me). You can attach significance to that in the paintings if you like, but it really isn't necessary. The works are meant to have many possible meanings.

Below you will find examples of a new series of abstract paintings. Years ago, out of graduate school, when I painted, (I worked mostly in ceramics), I did various forms of abstract works. After I began painting in earnest about eight years ago, I have been working realistically. As a "freedom break", I decided to return to abstraction in addition to my other series. I have never felt I should be constrained to a single style and instead, paint however I am moved to paint.
