Jan's work in ceramics has always been intuitive. Without formal classes in pottery or ceramics, she watched her husband work in their courtship days and quickly picked up what she needed to know.
Jan works on a large lichen pot now owned by daughter Donya.
The speed with which she mastered technique and taste was exemplified by how quickly her work gained national standing and the awards she won. All this, while helping to raise four daughters and in the early days, participating in Community Theater and the family band.
