Owner's Hall of Fame

As defined by the Private World Rules, anyone with 15+ seasons, a lifetime (ATH) winning percentage of .530, 6 division titles and 2 World Series Rings will be inducted into the Owner's Hall of Fame. Since we are in the lead up to Season 16 as I write this, it means that we are now officially at the point where people might have the longevity in the league to qualify. The following owners have been around for all 15 of ATH's inaugural seasons:

The easiest way to see if anyone from that group qualifies for the Owner HOF is to take a look at World Series titles. This group of seven owners is responsible for the six of the first fifteen titles: Season 1 (chunky), Season 13 (slicknick) and Seasons 5, 7, 8 and 12 (hirschjt.) With that distribution, hirsch is the only one who has met the 15 seasons and multiple titles requirements. So, all that is left to see if he qualifies as the first ever member in the Owner's HOF is to see if he has 6 division titles and a .530 lifetime winning percentage. His San Juan Black Hornets have won 13 consecutive division titles, so that box is checked....and over the first 15 seasons of ATH history, they sport a record of 1,579-851 which works out to a .650 winning percentage which checks the final box. It looks like we have our first member of the ATH Owner's Hall of Fame! Congrats, hirschjt!

Even though there isn't an official "Owner's Hall of Fame" standard as defined by the Private World Rules, I have set up a spreadsheet to calculate each owner's Manager Score using Bill James' method that is explained here. The results of those calculations can be seen below and currently include all of the results through S4. Take a look at Around The Horn's most successful managers to date (and the least successful if that's more your style!) ***NOTE: Managers listed in bold are not currently active in Around The Horn***

For context's sake, at the time of the publication for the above article, only five MLB managers had ever scored 150+ points on this scale...those being John McGraw, Joe McCarthy, Connie Mack, Walter Alston and Sparky Anderson...and James' goal was to make a score of 100 that of a HOF-worthy manager. With that in mind, here are the results:
