April 10, 2007 -- The Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership (CGP) is pleased to announce funding opportunities for small-scale education initiatives in Southern and Midwestern states. CGP’s Education Program seeks to increase awareness and understanding of Japan in these states through support of teacher training and related programs addressing the needs of the K-12 student and teacher community.

Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded for projects conducted from May 1 – December 31 2007. Proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis and applicants will be notified of the decision 1-2 months after formal submission of the proposal. Previous grantees are eligible to apply again if the proposed project includes a new target audience or contains substantive changes.
