Schilthorn, Jungfrau, and Lauterbrunnen Valley

The Schilthorn and Jungfrau are high mountains in Switzerland near the Lauterbrunnen Valley

I have a video that shows much of the scenery and activities from the Lauterbrunnen area. On the trip we stayed in the Lauterbrunnen Valley at the Mountain Hostel for 4 nights.

Lauterbrunnen is at the bottom a a U shaped glacial valley and has many water falls and high mountains surrounding it. The Schilthorn is to the Southwest of town and the Jungfrau is to the Southeast.

Here is a map link to the area: http://goo.gl/maps/LDzwB

Some items covered include: paragliding, summer sledding, zip line rideing, hiking, play on perhaps the world's highest teeter totter, and of course eating cheese. The video is fun and funny and includes my original song - Everybody Rock:

The Swiss Alps – Hiking on Schilthorn, Jungfrau, and Lauterbrunnen Valley. Also Sledding on a Glacier and other fun.

We hike on the Jungfrau, the Schilthorn, and in the Lauterbrunnen valley. We also hike near near Gimmelwald.

We went sledding on a glacier on the Jungfraujoch and hiked on the glacier to the Monks Hut.

The fun teeter totter may be the highest in the world.

The Swiss cows and cowboys are near Gimmelwald and Mürren. We enjoyed Swiss cheese, other cheaee, and yogurt.

Some things we did in the Swiss Alps include the following:

We went sledding on a glacier on the Jungfraujoch.

We saw a Swiss cattle drive with Swiss cows and cowboys near Gimmelwald.

We went to the top of the Schilthorn in the Swiss Alps - High in the Bernese Alps, overlooking the valley of Lauterbrunnen.

We saw the Jungfrau and went on the Jungfraujoch. We took the train to the worlds highest train station - really the worlds highest subway station because it is underground inside the mountain. The train climbs the mountains much of the way inside a tunnel in the Eiger.

In the video, you see us hiking in the Alps near Mürren, Gimmelwald. and other nearby towns.

Our Swiss adventure was part of a larger European trip. We also went to many other places in Europe - we spent 3.5 weeks there. I haven't edited a video of the other spots yet - we mostly traveled by train - over 150 trains. We also went on boats, busses, lifts, 1 day by car, and planes. The train is really the way to travel in Europe.

I write a little bit more about the Swiss Alps part of the trip here: https://sites.google.com/site/anoutsideguide/the-swiss-alps
