Ocean Odyssey
Students exercise critical and creative thinking while learning content and developing research skills.
Essential Questions of the unit are:
How does what happens in the ocean affect humans?
How do the actions of humans impact the oceans of the world?
The Ocean Odyssey unit includes activities that develop reading, writing, and science thinking skills centered on the theme of “oceans.”
Topics that will be covered include:
· Name that Ocean: Identify and locate oceans of the world.
· Ocean Zones: Learn how light effects life as we move deeper into the ocean.
· Sharks and Whales: Comparison of the two creatures.
· Creatures of the Ocean: Research to learn more about a creature of the ocean.
· Real world connections: Investigate real-world problems related to ocean environments.
