P.A.C.T. (Program for Academic and Creative Talent) at the elementary level provides curriculum enrichment experiences for academically advanced students in 4th and 5th grades. A team of resource teachers serves the schools on a rotating schedule, offering students the opportunity to participate in challenging activities in such areas as science, humanities, mathematics, and language arts. Some of the fourth and fifth grade classes offered are Ancient Number Systems, Architecture, Bio-engineering, Building a Business, Digital Storytelling, Fairy Tales on Trial, Math Olympiads, Math Challenges, Mythology, Poetry, Shakespeare, and Writers' Workshop. Students are screened each semester for P.A.C.T. and Prime Time classes. In addition to screening scores, ITBS scores, Cognitive Abilities (CogAT) scores, and classroom performance are considered. Teachers and parents can also recommend students for screening.
Students meet with PACT Resource Specialists one or two times a week.
