1910
The Southern League is created with 10 clubs. Unlike the rules of the PL and the Western League, the SL's rulebook did not allow for the addition of goal posts. Atlanta United is the first champion.
In the PL, Washington City, without Kuharsick in August, holds off Vermont 1791 to win the sixth premiership in team history.
1911
With telegraph services improving, the PL approves of a bylaw requiring teams to post out-of-town scores at home grounds.
For the first time, all games were required to start at precisely 3 PM locally for all rounds. The league also prohibited. briefly, night matches.
Vermont 1791 wins it's first Premiership, outdistancing Milwaukee Bavaria by 9 points.
1912
Appointed coach by Washington City, Darrell Kuharsick decides to play only part-time. The Columbians would finish 6th.
At the top, Brooklyn City edge Vermont 1791 and Allentown United for the premiership.
1913
Rules are changed to permit players to bounce the ball as they're moving forward, allowing for the introduction of the bounce pass. A rule requiring a score to be either thrown or kicked is also added.
Detroit Grande win their 2nd premiership.
1914
Boston Union win their second Premiership, but in second there's a three-way tie between Washington City, St. Paul City, and New York Scotch.
1915
Kuharsick retires after 6 games during the season. Over his career, he had scored 483 goals and was part of 5 premiership teams. He was also named to the all-decade team of the 1900's. He would continue to coach Washington City until 1917.
Without Kuharsick, the Columbians faded to 7th place, behind Premier New York Scotch.
1916
League adopts plan to eventually add a third division, but this would be put off until after World War I.
In the last season without American involvement in the "Great War", Philadelphia City win it's second Premiership.
1917
Several star pigballers, including Darrel Kuharsick, leave after the season to join the United States Armed Forces in Europe. The PL holds ten Liberty Bond matches in October to assist in war efforts.
Several clubs drop out before the season, leaving only 28 clubs in two classes. Boston Rovers win the Premiership for the third time.
1918
28 clubs started the 1918 season, with plans to play out 26 game seasons, but the PL had to cancel all remaining league matches on August 3rd, as "Work or Fight" regulations kicked in. At the end of the abbreviated season, Pittsburgh and Detroit Grande were tied for 1st, the Buccaneers earning the title with a win over the Grandes at Allegheny Field.
Darrel Kuharsick, 42, dies of the Spanish Flu pandemic while in London. Seven other Pigballers died of the flu, which killed over 50 million worldwide.
Thirty-five former PL players are killed in action during World War I.
1919
All teams that were part of the PL in 1916 were back in business, and four new club were added(Kansas City PC, Montréal PC, Charleston City, and Richmond Virginians).
The Premiership was won by Camden City, their first, and their only.
