David W. Graves was a freelance photographer and photo editor for the Chillicothe Gazette, where his work appeared regularly throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
His extensive body of work serves as a significant historical chronicle, capturing the unique cultural and economic landscape of Chillicothe during this era.
A master of both portraiture and landscape photography, Graves possessed a rare ability to capture the true essence of both human and natural subjects. Peers widely praised his efficiency and deliberate technique; he always knew exactly what he wanted to capture, rarely wasting a shot to achieve the perfect image.
To date, about 20 of perhaps 500 rolls of film have been digitized. The current technology possesed by the ALP has proven unable to render high resolution images free from blemishes and focus issues. We await grant money to purchase proper equipment.
