Middle School Requirements

Students will read one piece of literature from each of the following categories:

• Fiction

• Nonfiction

• Drama/3 Poems

A list of suggested books can be found under the Middle School tab, but there are many other titles you can choose from. Please visit your local library and ask a librarian to steer you to additional books for each genre.

Record-Keeping: Your child must complete a summer reading log for each piece of literature. Please return the reading logs to your English teacher during the first week of school. (View) (Download)

Incentives:If all summer reading logs (one piece of fiction, one piece of nonfiction, and one piece of drama or three poems are turned into the English teacher the first or second week of school, the English teacher will award you 3 stickers to wear that earn the privilege of 3 free casual days to be used for the month of September.
