5th Grade Requirements

Students will read 1 book from each genre (for a total of 5 books):

• Abridged or unabridged children's classic (CHAPTER BOOK)

• Realistic fiction (CHAPTER BOOK)

• Newberry Award Winner (CHAPTER BOOK)

• Biography/autobiography

• Nature/science book

Record-Keeping: Fill out with your child a summer reading log for each book. Please return the Reading Logs to your English teacher the first week of school. (View) (Download)

Incentive: If ALL 5 summer reading logs are turned into the English teacher the first or second week of school the English teacher will award you 4 stickers to wear that earn the privilege of 4 free casual days to be used for the month of September.
