Duane, Diane and Bryan, Camela, Coralie and Charlene were there to help; Amanda and Meghan brought materials for fixing the water line; Jay-Jay and David were there, too.
Besides having our cabin team meeting, here are the different jobs that were performed:
- water line repaired by Duane and Bryan
- raked & tried to dump the pile with Bryan's truck but had to leave the pile in the yard until the dumpster is put in place.
- all windows cleaned downstairs; all screens put up except the one from the kitchen to the deck. Where is that screen?
- evaluation made of the carpets needed upstairs; will wait to see what color the paint will be before choosing them.
- cut down the alder that was bent over next to the water pipe; cut up large branches that were in the yard. I am sorry that I didn't get any pictures of this project. Cam, you looked great wielding a chain saw.
- dismantled the cover for the deck because the support poles were damaged from the snow. This will be reconstructed with the same metal that is on the roof.
- stacked the wood pile properly after removing the plastic tarp; covered it with the tin that was removed from the cover for the deck.
- barbecue taken out of the deck house
Friday, May 27:
- Duane, Charlene, Karin Brunner & her fiancé Simon Bucher were there with the rented ditch witch and shovels to dig the leach line; finished the ditches in about 3 hours and sixteen restarts.
- the plumber Peter Pedry and a helper checked for leaks in the propane gas line for the stove. 2 major problems were found: one by the burners where a coupling was not tightened; one in the oven: the system had not been properly set for propane (was still on natural gas). There is one pilot light in the right-hand oven on the left wall in the middle that Duane was not aware of. So there are 2 pilot lights in all that need to be lit when starting up the oven. Dave Labhard will contact the company that made the repair for a possible reimbursement for the negligence.
- the plumbers repaired the toilet leak in the downstairs bathroom. Duane, can you tell us what the state of the toilet is?
- the plumbers corrected a leak under the kitchen sink.
- raked the pile up again and put it all into Duane's trailer.
- Duane mentioned wanting to change the floor heater in the dining-room. There should be discussion about this.
Saturday, May 28:
- Bryan brought rock, laid the pipe and finished the leach line with the help of some friends. It was put where the horseshoe pit is. It should be carefully mapped and the size of the pipe, etc. documented and entered into the documents on the website for our records.
Sunday, May 29:
- Bryan attended the Cabin Owners' Association Meeting.
Duane, please make a scan of all receipts for the records.
Thanks to everyone for all the help.
Yours truly,
Charlene
