Before First Use
1. Remove all warning labels from the Aircore self-cookers and Pans before first use.
2. Remove all packing materials.
3. Wash the Self-cookers, Lids, and all accessories thoroughly with liquid dish washing soap, warm water, and a sponge or soft kitchen cloth.
CAUTION: DO NOT immerse the ThemoSeal Steel lids in water because water may seep into and damage the AutoCook ThemroKnob
4. Towel dry.
NOTE: with the exception of the ThemoSeal lids, your Aircore cookware and accessories are dishwasher safe. The resealable lids are dishwasher safe on the top rack ONLY.
Self-Cooking with Aircore
1. For most recipes, place the food you wish to cook in an Aircore self-cooker
2. When bringing to a boil over medium-high heat, first: cover with the Look'n Cook glass lid ONLY. You can seen when a rolling boil is reached.
3. The Double-wall Stainless Steel construction is so efficient there is never a need to use high heat.
NOTE: To prevent burning food or causing damage to your Self-cookers, ALWAYS use Low to Medium-high heat. Because stoves vary in heat, you may need to adjust the temperature to prevent burning.
4. After food comes to a rolling boil, reduce heat to a simmer and immediately place the Themoseal lid over the Lookncook glass lid.
5. If a boil is not first recommended in the recipe: simply cover with the LooknCook Glass lid with the Themoseal Steel lid and continue cooking
NOTE: Each recipe offers detailed cooking directions for your use. Some recipes use the ThermoSeal Steel lid's temperature indicator, others use time, or a combination of the two.
6. As the food heats on the burner, the temperature indicator on the AutoCook ThemoKnob moves through the heating zones. Cook until the AutoCook ThemoKnob Temperature Indicator Needle reaches the yellow/low, midgreen/Medium, or mid-red/high as indicated on the recipe cooking guide.
7. Following the recipe or Cooking Guide, allow the food to remain cooking for the time specified. DO NOT LIFT THE LIDS OR STIR THE FOOD.
8. Remove the Self-Cooker from the heat and let the food self-cook without lifting or removing the lids. The Temperature Indicator may continue past the RED Heating Zone while cooking, this is normal. Follow Recipe/Cooking Guide directions.
NOTE: The USDA recommends that ground turkey and chicken be cooked to a internal temperature of 165F and beef, veal, lamb, and pork to be cooked to a internal temperature of 160. Meats such as ground beef and lamb, etc. should be cooked to an internal temperature of at least 145F. Pork should be cooked to an internal temperature of at least 160F. And poultry products should be cooked to an internal temperature of 170F-180F to be sure any harmful bacteria has been killed. When reheating meat/poultry products, they should also be cooked to an internal temperature of 165F.
CAUTION: Proper care must be taken with hot cookware. Be careful not to come in contact with hot Self-Cookers or Fry Pans, Lids, and accessories. Use protective mitts or gloves to move hot Self-Cookers. When opening a hot Self-Cooker or Fry Pan, use special caution. Escaping steam is hot and can cause burns.
WARNING: All Aircore Self-Cookers and Fry Pans remain very hot after cooking, it is best to move Cookers or Pans to a heat-resistant trivet or to a cool burner after the stove has been turned off. DO NOT PLACE ANY SELF-COOKER DIRECTLY ON THE COUNTERTOP, TABLETOP OR NON-HEAT RESISTANT SURFACE.
