In question 4 you decided on and wrote a goal on your SDLMI page in Google Classroom. You also wrote down the most important steps that need to happen to accomplish your goal. Now, we want to take that goal and those rough steps and turn them into specific steps that we can actually do.
For example, my goal in question 4 was to improve my scores on writing probes and grades on things that I write. My rough steps from question four are:
• I need to learn to use Read&Write so that I can hear what I type.
• I need to carry ear buds so that I can use Read&Write quietly in class.
• I need to proofread to make sure I capitalize the first word in a sentence
and use punctuation
My action plan for step five might have steps like:
• I will put my ear buds on top of my backpack before I go to bed at night.
• I will put my ear buds in my pocket when I pick up my backpack.
• I will ask my teacher to help me with Read&Write.
• When I do a writing assignment I will listen to it at least two times
• I will edit anyplace that sounds funny until it sounds correct.
• If I have a hard time fixing a funny place by myself I'll ask for help with that
specific section.
Next, please answer the questions at the bottom of this page. Finally, open your SDLMI Google Doc, the one in Google Classroom and find step 5. Under step 5 write down the specific steps that you need to do in order to meet your goal. It's not important that your steps are in order. It is important that your steps are specific. You should write down exactly what you need to do to make your goal work in real life.
