New Rules! v20140915

Wow, this has been a note I have been itching to write for 2 ½ years now; we have posted a new, official rules set! Read the new rules carefully but do not be intimidated by how different they seem, at their heart the rules really have not changed much at all, in fact they have not changed much in the 3 ½ years since my first draft. Almost all of the changes have been to make things more clear so you understand what to do without having to constantly go to the GM with questions, or to make the bookkeeping needed be a little less onerous or the format be a little more respectful of the limitations of our PBEM format. See section 13.1 for a list of changes that have occurred but among the simplifications to keep in mind because they will most certainly affect your nation as you prepare for the upcoming Turn:

-Only 1 Military Base facility in each hex

-The rule that a Military Base can only take care of 5 units has been deleted.

-0 Supply unit cost for Military Bases.

-Delete all units with Amphibious Assault Transport ability or Airborne Assault Transport ability.

-Delete all Support Air units.

-Delete all references to the military tech level of individual units.

I am not so foolish to believe that there will not be more changes forthcoming as we learn together what works and what does not for making a fun and playable game, but I sincerely hope that this is enough for now. Until then, onward to 2030 and beyond!
