Start of the 2035 Turn!

Happy Boxing Day everyone! We in the Management have been busy, busy, bees and now we are all set for the new Turn. Ring the Church bells! Happiness is mandatory!

Seriously folks, the first Turns it was all we could do just to have a comprehensive set of rules, I think our original GMs never really expected us to go beyond Earth and that could be seen in many of their design choices. This fall I had the time to make some guesses about what I think we will really need to take us to the stars.

-The new history section for 2035 has been posted, I hope you have as much fun with them as we did writing them.

-The new budget spreadsheets for all the player nations have also been posted. Note that tech advancements have been moved to the block G27-S45, for the first time it allows us to calculate the effects of cutting edge tech advancements automatically. You may notice some other minor changes to accommodate what I think will be needed for star spanning empires. Yes, there is a hidden section on lines 4-26; no, there is nothing terribly secret there.

-See the file 'Settlement_List_2035' in the files section of this website. Formally the 'Nations' file, it also has been modified to account for what I think will be needed for star spanning empires; with 1 line for each settlement, where ever it may be.

-Updated rules. As always, see section 13.1 for a complete list of the changes, but most of them have something to do with making space exploitation less onerous to play. Getting a functional and achievable gaming system going continues to be one of my primary goals.

-Micheal and David have been set to the task of extra-solar star system creation and mapping. You guys are working day and night on it... right?

Time tables are Andreas' job to set; but I would expect that he will want your complete orders and updated budget spreadsheets submitted to him no later than January 31st, 2016. Andreas? I just wanted to take the opportunity to ask all of you think about inviting people you know to join our game. We are down to around 6 players but we have 19 player nations available. My point is, bringing a new player in and up to speed takes time so get to it soonest!
