John Henry Gruber

SP4 - E4 - Army - Regular

B Troop, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry

1st Cavalry Division (AMBL)

John served in the Army and gave the ultimate sacrifice, his life. John was killed in action on May 23, 1971. John's name appears on the wall of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (Panel 03W - Line 52). For more about John, click here.

Colonel Samuel Thomas Williams

Sam served in the Army for 34 years. He received the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star and was elected into the Military Officers Hall of Fame. For more about Sam, click here.

CW2 Joseph Floyd Busby - A year after graduating from high school, Joe joined the Army and was selected for the Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS) and helicopter flight training. Joe flew a combat tour in Viet Nam logged over 300 combat hours. He flew both UH1-C and H models, rated in guns and slicks and was a helicopter test pilot and maintenance officer. Joe received the Air Medal for Valor.

Lisa Brown Blyth - Lisa joined the Navy in 1970. She went to "boot camp" in Bainbridge Maryland and after 10 weeks of "fun" ended up back in California, stationed at Alameda Naval Air Station. While there she had a variety of jobs from working in the base medical offices to working on the flight line at the air terminal.

Bruce Brummett - Bruce enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduation and I served a one year tour of duty in Viet Nam and returned home safe and in one piece. He spent another year stationed in San Diego and Oceanside California. His training was in communication

Gary Gotham - Gary joined the Navy after high school and served two years active service on board the USS Reasoner DE1063, a destroyer and four years in the reserve.

Rachel (Ruth Elliott) Steele - Rachel served in the Army as a nurse.

Dana Lynn Hendrickson - Dana served 7 years in the Navy.

James Jenison - James enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduation.

Richard Lee Johnson - Rick served in the Navy Seabee Reserve.

Pam Nell Stapp - Pam joined the Army the day after graduation. She was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington and the Presidio.

Douglas Nobles - Doug served 4 years in the Navy.

Jimmie Edward Oglesby - Jim served in the Air National Guard.

Timothy Michael Oglesby - Tim served in the Air National Guard.

Arthur Payne - Shortly after high school Art enlisted in the Army. After training in the Corp of Engineers, he was stationed in Germany for 10 months and ten volunteered for Viet Nam, He spent 11 months and 20 days there before getting injured and being medivacked out. He spent the last days of his 3 year tour at Fort Ord, CA and was discharged in 1972.

Kenneth L. Perry - Ken served in the Air National Guard.

Dennis Price - Dennis served in the Marines.

Steve Robinson - Steve served in the Navy.

Robert M. Tilyou - Bob served in the Air Force.

JSP4 Roy E. Turner - Roy joined the Army after high school and served for 1.5 years as a radar operator.

John Patrick Weber, Jr. - John served in the Marines as a helicopter pilot.

Jimmy C. McElreath - Jim served in Vietnam in 1970-71, G-Company, 75th Infantry Airborne Rangers. He later trained for and won the Green Beret and served with the 5th Special Forces group.

Mark Jordan - Mark served in the Army from March 29, 1971 to March 28, 1973 as an Army Specialist 4 and fought in the Vietnam War

Jack Lee Snider - Jack enlisted with the U.S. Navy shortly after graduating from RLHS. He served with the 3rd Marine Divisions as a corpsman in Okinawa, Japan.

Tommy J. Smith - Tommy served in the Army for 6.5 years.
