Jeffrey moved peacefully into new life Sunday morning, April 27th at his home in Brownsville, CA in the presence of his family and friends. He was 57 years old. Beloved by wife, Sis Hill and son, Charlie Brown, Jeff is also survived by his mother, Doris Hill of Rio Linda, CA, sister, Janis DeVerter and brother, Carl DeVerter of Sequim, Washington. He was deeply loved. Preceded in death by his father, Chuck Hill and sister, Carol Wetherbe, both of Rio Linda. Jeff leaves behind nieces Lisa Grauer, Jonel Porta, and Cassie Pillars, great nieces and nephews, and a multitude of dear and loving friends.

Jeff and Sis moved to Brownsville in 2000 making their home in the area's airport community that accommodated their mutual love of flying. He was closely involved in all the activities of the Aero Pines Association. He enjoyed woodworking and puttering in the hangar, riding his Quad, and harassing everyone. Jeff and Sis enjoyed traveling with dog Charlie Brown in their Airstream trailer and hunting elk with buddies in Utah.

Jeffrey lived life in high definition. He will be remembered for his love for life and adventure, his sharp wit and humor that touched everyone who knew him, and his playful and crazy antics. He was always available for his friends and never knew a stranger. Jeff had the ability to take on any kind of project and do it extremely well with a natural aversion to any training whatsoever. He loved wheels, going fast, complicated maneuvers, and intricate workings.

Jeff owned his own trucking business and operated a variety of large vehicles and construction equipment. He ran backhoes, transported heavy construction machinery, fueled ferries, moved earth, and slipped the surly bonds of earth in his Cessna 182. Jeffrey was a natural and accomplished pilot.

A celebration of Jeff's life will be held on May 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Rio Linda Airport. All family and friends are invited to come and share their joys and memories of Jeffrey. Please bring a potluck dish to share.
