The application is done entirely online, and visas are typically granted within 3 weeks of applying. The cost is $1,600 AUD (approximately $1,060 USD).

Study in Melbourne at Deakin University. Deakin University is a diverse institution encompassing a network of campuses that provide a variety of settings for productive learning and a valuable study abroad experience. Each Deakin campus has a distinct atmosphere and a strong sense of community. Despite the fact that Deakin is one of Australia’s largest universities, with over 53,000 students, the campuses are not huge or overwhelming.

Student Village: Melbourne Burwood
The Burwood Student Village is within walking distance of the main campus which offers facilities including a health clinic, food outlets, uni bar, hairdressers, and bank—and the local shopping center is a short distance away. It is easily accessed by public transport from Melbourne's city center. Set in an attractive landscape alongside Gardiners Creek, the village is adjacent to barbecues, walking paths, a running track, and parklands. There are single rooms in a co-educational and multi-cultural environment. All units have a communal lounge, kitchen, bathroom, and laundry facilities. As students are responsible for preparing their own meals, each unit contains a fully equipped kitchen—basic cooking utensils are provided.

You are required to enroll in the equivalency of 12-16 U.S. credits per semester. Students on USAC's program enroll in regular Deakin University classes alongside their Australian peers. Courses are subject to availability and approval of prerequisites which are determined by Deakin University.
Visa:
A student visa is official permission by a foreign government to live and study in that country. All U.S. passport holders studying in Australia must obtain a student visa prior to departure. The visa process is completed online and you will not receive a visa label to put in your passport. When you go through immigration, the official will see your visa status when they scan your passport. The Australian Embassy will contact yearlong students via email if there are any additional document requirements.
Further information will be posted to your USAC Student Gateway account in the Visa Guide, which you will receive about four months prior to the program start. Program Advisors in the Central Office are also available to answer any visa questions you may have.
All costs related to obtaining a visa, including travel, are your responsibility. Fees are subject to change and remain at the discretion of the Australian government.

Shanghai, China
Shanghai is the epicenter of China's ongoing growth and development. Students are introduced to Shanghai, both old and new, throughout this exciting program!
The Education Abroad Network has joined together with one of the most prestigious universities in China, Fudan University, and a leading Mandarin instruction program from the University of Virginia to offer students a comprehensive semester abroad. Students choose from over 120 courses offered in English and the opportunity to add a part time internship!

Therefore, it is important you do NOT plan any international travel in the 8 weeks leading up to your program. You will need to submit your physical passport to the Chinese consulate as part of the visa application process.
You cannot apply for your visa until you receive the required documents from your Program Manager. Once documents are received from the university in China, your Program Manager will email you the documents and advise on the visa process, but it is the student’s responsibility to apply and receive their student visa. Japan
Tokyo, Japan
This comprehensive semester features private housing and expert instruction from the J.F. Oberlin University in Tokyo’s Machida suburb, along with a range of engaging cultural activities, excursions, and even overnight trips, all included in the program price. Great for Global Studies, International Relations, Japanese Language, and East Asian Studies majors, you’ll study Japanese while also choosing three or four additional courses taught in English or further focusing on specific language competencies. Outside of class, you can take advantage of being close to the center of Tokyo (but with a lower cost of living!) and practice speaking and interacting with the local community on a daily basis.

Dormitory: You will be placed in one of J.F. Oberlin’s newly built off-campus dorms in a single 190-square-foot room. In your room, you’ll have a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave oven, stovetop, and a sink, plus a private bathroom, balcony and standard furniture (bed, desk, closet, storage). The dorms also feature study rooms, meeting rooms, coin-operated laundries, and a TV area. They are conveniently located near public transit routes – it takes about five minutes to walk to a free shuttle bus station and about ten minutes to get to J.F. Oberlin’s main campus.

New Zealand
Auckland, New Zealand
Study in New Zealand at one of three Massey University campuses! You may choose to study and live at one of its three campuses, which host some 25,000 local and international students. The five-college structure provides a diversity of courses for you to choose from. Massey is a leader in the fields of agriculture, applied biological sciences, nursing and public health, mathematics, visual arts, engineering and technology, physics, screen arts, sport and exercise science, design, social sciences, education, and business. The Business school holds AACSB international accreditation and is the largest business college in New Zealand. The engineering college also has ABET accreditation. Massey faculty are internationally renowned and cutting-edge research is undertaken on all three campuses.
Please note that the large distances between the three campuses make studying at more than one campus impossible. You must select courses to study at *ONLY Auckland* campus.

Auckland: On-Campus flats
University-managed accommodation in Auckland is on-campus and offers catered and self-catered options. All apartments or flats are modern, offering varying numbers of bedrooms. Conveniently located close to campus, shops, and amenities, these units provide secure, safe accommodation in a semi-rural environment. In most cases, a free shuttle bus to the campus operates Monday - Friday during semester time (daytime only).

*Massey offers credit-bearing internships in the fields of Business and Communication. Applications for these internships is restricted to seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher who are majoring in business, management, marketing, communication, media, or journalism.*

Approximately 40% of courses at Korea University are taught in English, providing access to a comprehensive array of academic disciplines. Korean Language courses are offered every semester at five different levels.
