Please note that these are directions for the Simmons application. You will also need to fill out an application with the specific study abroad program. Please note that program deadlines may be earlier than the Simmons deadline. 

Step 1: Open the Simmons Studio Abroad Application Portal

Step 2: Select "New User" and then, "Create Account."

Step 3: Complete the User Registration Information 

*Fill-in all of your biographic/students information and make sure to use your school email!*

Step 4: Click "Search Programs" 

Please email us at cge@simmons.edu if you don't see your program listed

Step 6: Complete the Pre-Decision Requirements

These include the following requirements: 

• Applicant Authorization (Read & Sign) 

• Host Program Details - Applicant Info (Select or write-in specific study abroad program)

• Passport & Visa Information (Read & Sign)

• Personal Statement-a short paragraph is fine!

• Simmons Course Approval Form 

• Study Away Considerations

• Verification of Signature (Read & Sign) 

*Passport: Apply for your passport, or make sure your passport is valid for 6 months after your return.* 

*Visa: Many countries require study visas for stays over 90 days. The requirements differ based on the country of citizenship and the length of the program. Further information will be given to you from you specific program after acceptance.*

Step 7: Study Abroad Clearance 

CGE reviews your application, while receiving clearance from the Dean of Students, Academic Advising and Student Accounts.  

Upon successful review of your application, the Center for Global Education will update your online application to “Participation Approved” and notify you via email with important “next step” instructions.
