How do I reset my password?

SIL & SIL Partners:

  1. In the login page, click Forgot password?.

  2. In the new SIL page, enter your username and click Send Me a Link.

    • If you see a User not found error, you have entered a username that is not on file. If you do not know your username, you can contact us or enter the corporate email address for the identity account

    • If you see a "Cannot contact reCAPTCHA" error, go back to the login page and click Forgot password? again.

  3. The next page should say that an email has been sent to an address.

To send to an alternate email address, click the arrow icon next to the address.

  1. Look for an email in your corporate account or alternate email address inbox. If you do not see an email, check your spam/junk mail folder.

    • Click the link in the email.

    • A new browser page will open and you can change your password. You may also be asked to supply 2SV information.

    • After the password has been reset, you may delete the email that was sent to you.


Are all my identity account passwords the same?

Passwords are not synchronized across identity accounts. If you have more than one identity account, we advise you to use a DIFFERENT password for each account.

The Identity Account continues to reject a new password I'm trying to set up. Why?

The Identity Account rejects a password if:

  • It is not strong or complex enough.

  • You have used that password for that identity before.

  • The password has been found in a public database of accounts that have been hacked.

How can I protect the visibility of my SIL identity account?

Use the Do Not Disclose option on your SIL profile page.

Why did my password expire quickly?

Passwords with 2-Step Verification enabled are good for 5 years.

However, your password may expire much sooner if it is on a list of passwords that were part of a data breach. In this event, your password is voided immediately and an alert displays on your page. You have the opportunity to either update the password immediately (recommended) or within the next week.

If you fail to update the password within one week, you must use the Forgot Password? link to log in.
