Fall Collage
The Artist will:
Discuss the word collage, and what it means.
Talk about fall fruits, vegetables, and colors.
Discuss textures and ways to make their fruit and vegetable collage cool and different!
Create a fall collage using fake food models by sketching, drawing with pencils, sharpies, colored pencils, etc, and placing them using overlapping to create their collage.
Paper Pumpkin Centerpieces
(Day 1): The students will start out by discussing forms and the looks of Pumpkins. The students will also discuss the difference between Jack o’ Lanterns and pumpkins.
-The student will:
-Create 2 different styles of 3D pumpkins using paper. They can choose colored paper, or scrapbooking paper. The process will be cutting, building, gluing.
-Day 2: Finish any pumpkins they have not completed.

Dough Ornaments
The Purpose of this lesson is to create a fun ornament to celebrate the holiday season using symbolism and 3D techniques.
The Artist will:
Discuss holiday symbolism.
Look at several examples of holiday symbolism, and techniques for creating it 3D.
Build an ornament using the techniques and materials provided.
paint their ornament using small brushes and neat lines.
Materials: Salt Dough, wire, paint.

"Modern Mona" Project:
"The Mona Lisa" By Leonardo Da Vinci
The purpose of this lesson is for students to get to know Leonardo Da Vinci and his work, and put a modern twist on a very famous Painting. 4-6 class periods
Objectives: The artist will:
(Day 1): Discuss what they know about Leonardo Da Vinci and his famous painting, “The Mona Lisa”.
Listen to a short book about Da Vinci, including fun facts about his life and ideas behind his famous paintings while coloring the Mona Lisa Coloring sheet.
(Day 2): Discuss and list what it means to be “modern”, and also understanding that making her modern does not mean defacing, but make her look like she was created in the 21st century.
Understand the vocabulary of proportion, realism, and renaissance.
Create a sketch that makes Mona more “modern” using colored pencils.
(Day 4-6)L Create the final Modern Mona using large paper, pencils, colored pencils, and a sharpie to trace the lines to make them look more finished.
Materials: Mona Lisa color sheet, 9x12 sketch paper, 12x18 white paper, pencils, colored pencils, sharpies.
Cross Curriculum: History, literature.

Mardi Gras Masks
The students will:
Learn the History behind the Famous day of Mardi Gras.
Color and design a sketch of their style of Mardi Gras Mask.
Cut out their Mardi Gras style mask and cover it with modge podge
Cover the mask with a tissue paper base.
Use sequins, glitter, and Feathers for decorations.
Add a stick for the final touch.

Impressionism Gardens
The Purpose of this lesson is to have a higher understanding for the Impressionism Art Movement by creating gardens.
Objectives: The Artist will:
(Day 1) Discuss what they know about Impressionism.
Listen to fun facts about Claude Monet and his art.
Discuss other impressionism artist such as Renoir, Manet, Seurat, and Degas.
(Day 2) Watch the video, “In Monet’s Garden.
Create a layout of Monet's Garden, knowing that their gardens have to include a stream, a bridge, and plant life such as flowers and trees.
(Day 3) Discuss and watch a demonstration of Impressionism Painting, including the use of tints and shades.
(Day 3, 4, 5) Paint an Impressionism Garden focusing on certain areas at a time, such as the greens one day, blues another day...
Discuss as a class their final projects and possibly present them!

3D Names
The Purpose of this lesson is for greater understanding of drawing in 3D using basic techniques.The Artist will:
Look at several examples of calligraphy and graffiti.
Discuss the idea of one point perspective with a horizon line and vanishing point.
Create these basic points and draw their name in block letters.
Draw orthogonal lines back to the vanishing point from all the points of their letters.
Create their parallel lines to make the letters look 3D
Erase the extra Orthogonal lines, and color their letters brightly.
1 Point Perspective Lockers
The Purpose of this project is for the student to understand the idea of Perspective drawing by using a vanishing point and horizon line along with the Abstract style of art.
The Artist will:
Draw their vanishing point and horizon line on their paper.
Draw their triangle "road" in the middle of their paper.
Draw their 2 upper lines back to the vanishing point.
Draw their vertical lines to create the lockers.
Draw their parallel lines on top to separate the lockers (notice the 90 degree angle).
Draw their floor lines back to the vanishing point.
Draw their parallel lines across the floor to make the checkerboard feel.
Decorate their lockers in a festive way, looking at Picasso and his Abstract/ Geometric/ Cubist style, remembering to use their lines properly to make sure their look 3D!
