Module Choice for your Degree Programme

Depending on your chosen degree programme, you may need to make module selections.

You can find out which courses you need to take as part of your programme by expanding the appropriate programme title below. For any SoMaS course listed, there are short descriptions given on the Module Descriptions page. A number of our programmes feature a choice of modules (typically to the value of 20 credits) where you can either take the recommended SoMaS course that we've listed, or one of our approved "unrestricted" courses. The list of these unrestricted courses is given at the bottom of this page.

To obtain a degree you must take modules to a value of 120 credits in each academic year. Within SoMaS, we recommend that you aim for an even 60:60 credit split between the two semesters, but that we readily allow a 50:70 or 70:50 split. Anything more extreme than this will require written confirmation from the Director of Teaching.
