Dr Pyne is a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow and Senior Lecturer. She was recently awarded the Royal Microscopical Society AFM & SPM award for outstanding progress made in this field.

Dr. Chen has an interdisciplinary educational background and extensive experience in both biophysics and material science, having contributed to a wide array of research projects (see more here). She has over 12 years experience in AFM applications and relevant instrumental development, in particular, nanomechanical and electrical characterisations. Her proficiency extends to nanoindentation and optical profilometry, covering a diverse range of materials from soft, thin polymer deposits to rigid, bulky substances. Dr. Chen is dedicated to supporting current and prospective users and collaborators of the Nanocharacterisation Laboratory by offering expert guidance, experimental services and comprehensive training.
