On first arrival in Intro Week, each MBB student is allocated a personal tutor. In addition to helping you develop your academic skills, this is a member of the academic staff in the Department who is there to help you if you are having difficulties with your studies or if you are having personal difficulties that you are worried about or that are impacting upon your studies. They will often be your first port of call when you need support.
Your personal tutor will normally be the same person throughout your degree, although you may be reallocated in exceptional circumstances, such as an extended absence of your tutor or incompatibility between you and your tutor. If you wish to change your personal tutor, you should first discuss this with Dr Baker.
Information about scheduled meetings with your personal tutor can be found on the Feedback and Skills Development Blackboard page. If you are experiencing difficulties, however, you should not wait for your scheduled meeting but should seek to identify ways to help resolve the problem through an early meeting with your personal tutor or another member of support staff.
