The Department of Student Services is responsible for student welfare, housing services, registration and examinations, and undergraduate student services. The Department of Student Services runs the Student Services Information Desk (SSiD) which provides a range of administrative services to students.
SSiD is a 'one-stop shop' student information service, which can answer the majority of your questions and provide a range of administrative services, including:
UCards
Transcripts
Bank letters
Student status documents
Council tax exemption letters
If they can’t answer your question, they will refer you to the relevant service or department who can.

If you have problems concerning money, rights and welfare or housing the Students' Advice Centre (telephone 0114 222 8660, website here) in the Students' Union has a team of professional advisors who are available to help on an individual basis.
Financial Support
The Financial Support Team administer our University bursary and scholarship schemes for undergraduate and postgraduate taught students. They also have funds available to provide you with support if you’re experiencing exceptional financial difficulties.
