Feedback at University can take many forms, including:
a number grade
informal verbal feedback from academics or demonstrators about your technical skills in the practical or computer labs
written comments on an essay
comments on a specimen paper answer
group feedback on an assignment and the common pitfalls
Comments on a project report or literature review draft
tickboxes in a rubric
Sometimes the comments only concern this particular piece of work (for example, specific content mistakes). But most of the time they can be applied ("fed forward") to other, similar pieces of work. (I will add some more advice on how to do that here)
