What am I good at?

Within work, I enjoy doing research which has an impact and makes a difference. I love doing research which involves people in all stages of research, and places people at the heart of the project. I love talking to people and hearing about their lives, and what is important to them. Outside work I love walking my dog across different landscapes and discovering new areas of the countryside.

How am I helping with the project?

I will be bringing my experience as a researcher and as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities to the project. I will be supporting the research through the Stakeholder groups, interviews and workshops to develop the toolkit.

What is important to me?

Having worked as a support worker, it’s important to me that adults with learning disabilities are supported to lead fulfilling and as independent as possible lives. I love that this project has and will be engaging with different key stakeholders including adults with learning disabilities, service providers and local authorities throughout to make sure that the research and developed toolkit are appropriate and accessible for all. I am passionate about wellbeing, and doing research which can support people to thrive, so it is important to me that this project develops a tool which can encourage greater wellbeing and life experience for adults with learning disabilities.
