Coach Roberson
Dr. Luke Roberson is the new Head Swim and Dive coach at Merritt Island High School. Luke began his swimming career at the age of 7 at the Lilburn Lions summer league team in Atlanta. He later transitioned to club swimming at Swim Atlanta. He swam high school at Parkview High in Stone Mountain where he was a 4-year letter winner, state qualifier in breaststroke, and won the team state championship his senior year In 1995. During high school, he was the assistant coach at the Woods of Parkview summer league team. He continued his swimming career at Georgia Tech from 1995-1997 while the Olympics were in Atlanta, opening their new aquatic facility and earning a varsity letter. He began coaching high school in Brevard County in 2016 at Space Coast High School. Over those 8 years, he started their dive program, helped students break 16 of the 24 school records, and took a swimmer or diver to state all 8 years. He is currently ranked top 100 in US Maters Swimming for his age group in several events, and his daughter swims competitively as a team captain at Harding University.
