Our goal is to take immediate action to combat climate change and its impacts.
Annamarie, Genevieve, Zachary, and Isabella
To help share their learning, each SDG group created a formal presentation to present to the parents
LEVELS OF ACTION:
LEVEL 1: In this action level, each SDG group took action to spread awareness in school.
LEVEL 2: In this level of action, each group took action outside of school with another organization.
LEVEL 3: Each student took individual action in their community or partnered with another student in their group to complete this level of action in support of their SDG.
We created two art pieces about how to take action against climate change and what's recyclable. Then we hung them around the school. We did this to educate others on what can be recycled and how they can take action against climate change.
We went to the Barrier Island Turtle Sanctuary for a beach clean up. We walked two hours, picked up trash, and charted the data on a clipboard. We did a beach cleanup because it helps to reduce plastic waste and our carbon footprint.
LEVEL 3 ACTIONS
I contacted the Port Canaveral Yacht Club and put a recycling bin inside their restaurant. I also hung posters about SDG 13 explaining why its so important and how we need to take action.
-Genevieve
I made door hangers about what climate change is and easy ways that people could help such as reduce water use and eat the food you buy. Then I hung the door hangers on the doors of the houses in my neighborhood.
-Annamarie
I made animals that are affected by climate change out of recycled materials and hung them up around my community. I also provided a bit of information on SDG 13 and climate change.
-Isabella
I made a planter with a sign on how to help climate change for a church called Divine Mercy. It was located near where the Easter egg hunt took place.
