All Sixth Form students are timetabled to attend one hour of tutor time each fortnight. During this time, not only will students have the opportunity to get to know their tutor better, but also cover and discuss some of the important issues facing young people in today's society. These sessions offer students the tools to enable them to progress from KS4 and school life, through their Sixth Form years and beyond, into the wider world, once they leave Sixth Form.
In Year 12, students cover:
induction into Sixth Form
wellbeing (mental health, physical exercise, drugs and alcohol, road safety)
relationships (respectful relationships, healthy relationships, sex, gender, stereotypes)
progression (Xello, Careers, applying to University, applying for apprenticeships, applying for jobs)
In Year 13, students cover:
progression (personal statement writing, CV writing, cover letter writing,
living in the wider world (budgeting, living away from home, managing finances, bank accounts, Student Finance)
revision
These sessions are on all students' timetables and are compulsory.
All Sixth Form students are also expected to attend a Next Steps lecture once a fortnight. These take place on Friday mornings. They are university-style lectures or tutorials on a wide range of topics, designed to support students during their time in the Sixth Form and prepare them for their future pathways.
In Year 12, topics covered include:

In Year 13, topics covered include:
progression pathways (UCAS, Student Finance, Non-UCAS, Apprenticeships, Employment)
revision
drop ins and support
These sessions are on all students' timetables and are compulsory.
