In the first instance, if you need help with any pastoral issues (friendship, wellbeing, etc.), you should tell your Tutor when you see them for tutor time. Your Head of Year is also available at all times for assistance in these matters and you are welcome to come to the Head of Year Office to discuss any issues with them in privacy.
Our Wellbeing Lead, Miss Borthwick, is also available to point you in the right direction if you are looking for support with your wellbeing; be it physical, emotional or social. Miss Borthwick is based in our Wellbeing Hub which we encourage you all to access. There is a gym as well as a space for group activities such as yoga and mindfulness.
If a student feels unwell or has an accident they must tell a teacher straight away. Normally students will be sent to the medical room where the school nurse will take care of them. If students are too ill to remain at school then they may go home with the permission of a member of the Sixth Form Team or the school medical welfare officer, who will try to contact parents, carer or matron to make suitable arrangements. Students must not go home ill without informing the school medical welfare officer and Sixth Form Admin Office. They must sign out.
If you are struggling with your subjects, you must let your subject teacher know immediately. They are the ones who can help you manage workload, catch up where necessary and discuss further options. Your head of year is the person you need to speak to if you feel your options choices need reviewing. Please note that you cannot make any concrete changes to your chosen courses after the end of September
